I love my Kindle. I'm a bit like you; love the idea of books. I love having a bookshelf full of books. Just like I adore having a cabinet full of CD's. I love walking into people's homes and going through their collection. It can tell you a lot about a person and even give you some direction what to read or listen to next.

I love my Kindle because I can have a few books going on at the same time. Read according to my mood :-)

And I haven't bought a newspaper in years. Though I do think that's having a detrimental effect on my kids. I started reading the news because the paper was casually lying around the house. Might have to re-invest for their sakes :-)

Love & stuff

Hi emily, have been looking on the web at various yowie sights .since ive been dating my now parter Ive heard alot about yowies .A subject i have to admit has never interested me until now.I have had a some what turbulant relationship which im hoping things to work out better.the man im dating is a level headed smart person, however he is involved with yowie hunters and enthusiasts.in the time ive known this person certain hoaxs have been revealed, people he knows and knows of who have serious mental breakdowns, hospitalised and sadly abused as children are the main australian yowie hunters and associates.I have never been shown clear proof and im believer in science.I read there books, listened to stories, watched interviews and have seen there behaviour first hand.I have to say after being exposed to these people and what i know i can bet my first born on the fact these creatures hundreds of years ago may have existed but do not now.my partner was first introduced and associated with these people after his own personal tradgedies.despite logic and modern uses of technology there is still no other hard evidence. In concluding these people may feel comfort in belonging to a minority group and this myth to feel connections with others ,a sence of belonging.myths and legends have been around since time began.Although im a non believer if these sights help who am I to judge.

Thoroughly agree. On our 14 hour flight the high point for me was when I finally got my small boys to just sit and draw for a bit. Of course they watched the inappropriate airline movies etc (14 hours way too long) but great that we managed to switch off for a bit.
Also, I refuse to have car DVD players. I can see their use for a really long trip but find it distressing when I see them permanently on for v young kids for every car trip.

Fully agree with you Emily, I know someone who is always banging on about her 8 hour drug free labour with a private midwife, implying that if it was any different for you then you just didn't try hard enough. As neither of mine was anywhere near 8 hours - more like 23 and 24 respectively and in the first instance with fetal distress and monitoring, an epidural was a Godsend!

Em - loved this post ( as I do all of your posts).
Seriously, the new age 'Mama' world does my head in. Everything from the do's and dont's during pre conception, on the night of conception (because clearly, we all know when the exact moment occurs - doesn't everyone...? oooooh you just 'know' and should immediately drink a glass of asparagus juice, freshly squeezed - STAT!' and whilst pregnant. We're not idiots, if you smell the milk, and it's a bit on the nose, don't drink it. If you are offered salami from a street vendor in 50 degree heat in Thailand, don't eat it! But seriously, what has happened to good old common sense. If it's not right - our inner instincts will tell us. As for epis - well, unfortunately I wont ever be in the position to know thanks to a spinal fusion. Cant have one. So! Do I trust that I can manage ala natural? Or have to succumb to a GA. GA??????? Now that will REALLY get peeps talking!

Absolutely Em!! As long as you have a healthy baby at the end of it, it doesn't matter how or with what 'aids' you come in to the world!! As a mother who had an emergency caeserian, a planned caeserian and two babies in intensive care - the entry in to this world is insignificant!! Some of these so called 'super mum's' really need to be put in the position of having to be a 'super mum!!'.

We make up games for our daughter to play like how many red (you can use any colour) cars go past us, What do the letters of the licence plate of the car mean for example a plate that reds ROD could mean Really Over Driving.

There is heaps of things to keep kids entertained on long car trips without using DVD's or hand held games

(((( Hugs )))) XXXX Kisses XXXX
